We are focused on maintaining the Lhasa Apso in temperament, conformation, and structural soundness in accordance with AKC Standards.We're happy to answer any questions you may have about Lhasa Apsos.We're often asked where our name comes from, and how to say it!Kai-Ara (kī-air-ah): “Kyi” with a silent 'y' is the Tibetan word for dog. “Apso” is short for ”ara” (meaning mustache) and also Tibetan slang for “sog-sog” (meaning hairy). Basically, we put these together and they mean “hairy mustache dog”.Thanks for visiting!
